IM-8 graphite is a commonly-referred-to term in the fishing industry which describes the stiffness-to-weight ratio of a graphite blank. IM-8 graphite is around 45 million modulus for added responsiveness, increased power and reduced weight. For comparison purposes, standard graphite is only around 33 million modulus.
